<techradar>possible nvidia tablet with tegra 4 close to launch?

Thread Starter
dia's heavily rumoured expansion into the Android tablet market has moved a little closer to reality with the so-called 7-inch Tegra Tab taking a tour of the tech regulators Stateside.
The device has taken the requisite trip through the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) office and lists a slate with the current-gen Nvidia Tegra 4 processor.
It also promises a 1,280 x 800 IPS display, a battery up to 4100mAh in size, and the stock version of the Android Jelly Bean operating system.
According to the filing, it'll have a 5-megapixel rear camera, a HD webcam and a stylus for the purpose of poking and prodding around the OS.

1280x800? Meh...depends on the price. Tegra 4 would be nice but the rest of the specs are kinda "meh"...if it comes in at ~$150 or so it might be a good buy. The new Nexus 7 looks a lot better, granted it has slightly slower hardware...but...1200p...thumb.gif

It seems like OEMs are really wary of Nvidias claims about delivery time, power, and performance after problems with Tegra 2 and 3. Tegra 4 in Shield is actively cooled, perhaps it produces too much heat for most tablets. Maybe this just trying to convince oems it can actually go in a tablet, and not meant to sell directly.
