I would say it's actually taking advantage of the next generation hardware and features aside from making it a bit prettier than the version on current generation consoles.
And before anyone says anything, no, I'm not suggesting Activision/Infinity Ward to completely change the formula, but now there's room to do something much bigger that makes things feel a bit more fresh without sacrificing that CoD feel. I don't want CoD to be something it's not and I don't expect it to be.

However that's all moot. Who cares about next gen or not. I certainly don't, as I just want a refresh of the mechanics I enjoy so much. I currently have 394 hours in Black Ops2, I get my moneys worth with the games, I cant say the same for crisis or BF series, and yet They all cost me the same price.
Its all about personal preference, if you don't like it, feel free not to play it, however consistently spouting the same complaints that have been uttered for years by non-COD players gets old.
Yes we get it graphics are not ground breaking.
So you're gonna tell me that, aside from the graphical changes, things like destruction and other new features won't be available on current generation versions as well? All that stuff also isn't enough to make the game feel fresh compared to past Call of Duty games. And yes, Battlefield 4 can claim a massive difference when it comes to current and next generation consoles such as 64 player servers, 60fps, bigger maps, etc. Those things are huge and it completely changes the way the game feels and plays out. Battlefield 4 on current gen consoles will still be as gimped as ever.
I'm not a non-CoD player by any means. I've played every CoD since the beginning of its existence thoroughly and have enjoyed most of them quite a bit. I'm a pretty big fan of CoD and that's why I do want them to freshen things up a bit because I do enjoy the fast paced arcadey gameplay and I don't want it to sacrifice the feel of the game. I don't want to be bored with the series anymore..Edited by moocowman - 9/13/13 at 11:56am
