Quick question on i5-4670k frequency UPDATE - Page 2

Hard to say unless you check what you can do with them, i said 1.25vcore, 1.76vrin +vrin llc turbo/extreme for quick testing to see as an example if you could only do 4.2ghz on that, or could do like 4.7

Why don't you want more than 1.15v for an i5 on a drp2? That's stock voltage under load basically

Dark rock pro 2

It's not really too much, it's just a really low oc that's all

I'd still stand by this
Quote:
If you want a quick profile, set 1.25vcore, 1.76vrin, vrin llc extreme, manually set uncore ratio to 34x (not 35x) and see what multiplier you can do with it, probably 4.5 +- 0.2 depending on the chip. Will be plenty plenty cool with i5, drp2 in non-avx stress tests and any real load
but if you want different vcore's you could try like 1.20 with 1.7vrin, 1.3 with 1.85vrin, just keep vrin llc on turbo/extreme and other stuff with uncore and ring (like 34x uncore, 1.15 ring) but just changing vcore and leaving other stuff auto doesn't give best results IMO. Can't go wrong with that kind of profile i said, afaik. If a multi doesn't work, just drop one. I wouldn't reccomend testing with prime though, x264 bench 5.0.1 is pretty good and will tell you when you're getting close to stability

I don't see reason to be below 1.2vcore on an i5 with high end air

I dont see the need of more than 4GHz. No games require that much+ I want my cpu to last as long as possible. Cause this is the last PC i can get. Next time would be in minimum 5+ years. "Lifetime" is what's important to me. And I need high end air cooling cause my Pc is in a small room and its always hot in here. Ok i'll download that program you recommended.
