VC, Mem and Cooler!

What videocard gives most bang for buck till the DX10 card prices drop? I just bought an E6600 with ASUS P5B Deluxe. Still looking for good ram(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820146563) and videocard. Also, an aircooler that will keep temp normal during overclocking. Any suggestions?

An nvidia 7600GT is a good card to keep you going until DX10 although it won't play the newest games like BF2142 at full specs, but its cheap and overclockable. If you want something a bit more powerful a 7900GT isn't a bad buy. Have a browse around ebay and see if you can spot any bargains.

Got a TT120 myself, awesome coler if you can find one. Scythe Ninja (good with quiet aka low cfm fans) and Thermaltake Big Typhoon (good for cooling the power regulators and passive northbridge heatsink) are others to mention.

G.Skill comes highly recommended, as does Team Xtreme and Geil.

As for video card, i'm probably more ATi than the nVidia guy earlier... ...but i'd go for a X1950XT if you don't mind a little noise from the cooler. Its a simply fantastic card for the price and beats anything nVidia can offer up to a 7950GX2 (inc 7950GT/7900GT/7900GS and 7900GTX when oc'd). If you're noise concious, then go with a 7950GT with a passive sink, or the ATi alternative is a X1950 Pro. Any of the above will do you well for a couple of months while ATi get the R600 cards out and the DX10 price wars begin

Yea, i thaught i'd stick to Nvidia seeing as thats what i know most about! I have an SLi mobo for the past however many years so i've never paid much attention to ATi. I got the impresson he was looking for slightly cheaper cards just to keep him gaming but also so he could save a bit of cash for a DX10 card. My personal opinion is that the 7600GT is the best "bang for buck" at the moment, especially if you can nab a bargain on Ebay. But yea, if you have got the money for a X1950 then they are good cards, but then so are all the high end cards!

The zalmans are good with low volts but suffer when the heat goes up, also they are pricey, a better buy would perhaps be a Scythe Infinity, Scythe Ninja or Thermaltake Big Typhoon. There are others too but they are the ones i personally rate highly. The Big Typhoon would also cool your memory and that passive heatpipe you have on your northbridge nicely.
