A very convenient argument I once made to myself too. But it's naive. There is always room for improvement. You can Ray Trace a 3D scene in real time and truly represent reality. Look at the big picture, the transistor industry in whole, not just Intel or CPUs. There is always room for use of performance. The fact is as they approach towards 7-5nm there is simply no room to make a transistor because the size of the atom itself is unable to build the contraption. Not even graphene can do anything on that since its atoms aren't other atoms. Though it has an advantage, in theory, that it may for the same size offer higher frequencies due to lower temperatures, maybe, if they are able to build it. Intel though has recently admit it, there is a problem after 7nm, around 2017 onwards. It makes perfect sense since that's the point silicon simply can't make smaller transistors anymore.
