TP-Link PCIE wireless card dropping Wifi

Hello! as the title says Im having issues with a TP-Link wireless card. I disabled and re-enabled it then uninstalled it and reinstalled it from Device manager and it hasn't fixed the issue. Its really odd because my computer drops the connection with the router yet can see other wireless networks. And its not the routers problem because my phone remains connected.

That last bit is whats confusing me the most. it can see my friends router in the room beside me yet it cannot see mine in my room. Yet when the connection drops my phone stays connected. Mind boggling and i don't know what on earth could do that. So fire off suggestions about things to try because i got nothin left. Thanks in advance!

Bump because I'm still having this issue. My router vanishes from my wireless list and i have to wait a varying amount of time for it to come back, usually 5 - 15 minutes. I physically removed the card, re-installed it with newly downloaded drivers and nothing has changed. Still getting dropped but i can always see other routers.

My router is an older D-Link DIR 615 (doesn't support DD-WRT, misread the posting i bought it from because i wanted to play with DD-WRT)
My network card (which has given me flawless service up until moving into my new apartment) is a TP-Link TL-WN851ND

Any help or suggestions of new things to try would be greatly appreciated, because naturally having the internet randomly not working for no apparent reason is a little frustrating.
