I'm 'only' 170lb
Got used to an old desktop and monitor on a small table beside my bed to my right hand side. However it forced the position of the bed into a very inefficient position with regard to floor space. Tried using laptop and iPad in bed and always felt I was missing out on power and screen area. Tried the desktop and monitor table on other side of bed so that bed could be repositioned to make better use of space and just got terrible crick in my neck and migraines for my efforts. Finally saved the money for this mini-itx PC and put together this out of odds and ends I had lying around in the loft/shed/top of wardrobe etc etc I get to have my cake and eat it too. The type of PC and Monitor I want, where I want it but with the bed being in a position in the room that maximises free floor space and makes the room feel a lot bigger and less cluttered.
PC is mounted on its VESA bracket to an old laptop tray that happened to have VESA spaced holes where it used to affix to articulating laptop tray arm. The stand is an old shop sweet stand with the sweet bag hangers cut off. The legs of the stand are trapped under the Divan bed so the thing doesn't tip sideways when I swing the monitor against the wall for sleep. Cut square out of bottom lining of Bed to accomodate the Subwoofer underneath the bed. Fan is an old Corsair 200mm mounted to a gooseneck Mic stalk that can be bent to point it wherever I want. At my sweaty brow usually
Glass holder made from Telescope Focuser Spacer Block. Frame of stand and cables hidden by sheet of Black Baize material. Why I had a sheet of black baize material lying around in the house I do not know
Only thing I bought was the monitor arm thats bolted to stand.
When I am puffing away on my e-cigarette plugged into the usb port on the PC I feel like I am plugged into the matrix
I love cobbling together something out of recycled stuff that was just lying around
