True, but I didn't buy my 780 because of price/performance. That's why you buy AMD, because intel doesn't match their price/performance ratio. However, if you're buying a Titan or 780, do you really think price/performance is an issue? No, they (including me) bought it because of the raw performance in can use.
From what I understand the latest beta drivers have cleared up all issues with CX. I'm not positive, that's just what I've heard. I really don't keep up with AMD all that much.
Likening CPUs to GPUs is a bad analogy. The GPU race is much more competitive but we'll reserve 780 and Hawaii discussions for later when the cards are released.
If you are after raw performance the 7990 can be had for $600-700 and is quite a bit faster than both the Titan and 780
