8350 taking a lot of voltage to hit 4.8ghz... - Page 11

@squee426, i will take your advice and get that ram coller then, thanks man!

@darklyric, this is my first am3+ mobo and well i lack some stuff in bios on the rev 3 of the ud5 mobo. But what i read and looked at the saberkittys bios it seems like the best mobo u can get for a fx cpu so i agree with you. But well the ud5 is more expensive here in sweden then the saberkitty as well, strange. What i like about the ud5 is that its reliable mobo and the vrms keeps cool, and that it wont thorttle your cpu. But without ever owning one, i say saberkitty ftw aanyway. but i will stick to my ud5 anyway. Cant afford to change parts that often so.

It's been a rough week. Today I can physically see the light at the end of the tunnel but mentally am in "Which way is up?" mode.

Been looking for a stable setup and spent the morning trying some odd setups. It seems this mobo does not like high FSB and goes wildly unstable. One run on IBTAVX @ 230FSB had the gflops going from 79 to 101......before the whole puter locked up.

It does like faster ram though. Going from 1600 to 1866 makes a very large difference in loading times and overall performance. Another oddity. FSB of 205 gives single channel ram and a FSB of 209 gives dual channel ram. So 209 it is.

Here is a short run at 4.8ghz and 209FSB. Going to go for longer runs next.

Methinks I found the sweet spot. Of course it's completely different from what everyone else is doing. rolleyes.gif Now to see about getting the temps down, which shouldn't be too hard as everything is set high. Testing at 1.52V vcore.

@soulwrath, the link appears to be broken....What kit are you looking into?

@miklkit, Good deal! keep messing with it and you'll eventually get it down to the point where you're happy with your settings! thumb.gif

Well Squee sorry it took so long for me to reply ~ I am thinking of upgrading from the h100 corsair (CLC) to a actual water cooling system, Would like the design to be Black/Red and then there is the "hope" of finding some decent sleeved cables that are black/red also - do you have any usggestions? and i have a 800D csae that I am willing to mod so there is no problem with space, Would like the 360 Radiator of 480 Rad works too smile.gif
