I have a supermicro x9DAi and 2 e5-4640's coming and I do have one question for anyone who may know, but I am going to have to steal my OCZ 1000w Gold psu from my other computer and I am wanting to know if putting my GTX 580 classified in the 2p will take away from running BA to where it would not be worth putting it in there?
Um, you may have ordered the wrong CPUs, or made a typo, e5-46xx series is for 4P boards, you would want e5-26xx series for a supermicro x9DAi board.
As far as I know, Linux GPU folding is limited to NV GPUs, and Core 17 WUs, in which case you would want to allot 1c / 2t to the GPU for the OpenCL calls. You would still be able to complete BA on time, but I don't know how much impact it would be on the BA unit. Try it and find out, worst case scenario you just take it out. I think you would still come out ahead, a 580 should do ~42-45k PPD on core 17, and I doubt the impact from dropping 2 threads would be 40k ppd.
