Is My Current PSU Big Enough?

Hi

I was wondering if my current PSU is big enough for the next hardware upgrade I'm about to invest in.
The PSU I have is Platinum 1000w from Seasonic: http://www.seasonicusa.com/Platinum_Series.htm

I'm about to upgrade from my 2x EVGA GTX 680 to 2x EVGA GTX 780 SC ACX: http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=03G-P4-2784-KR
Of what I can see the 780's will take 100w (together) more watt during usage, compared to the 680's.

The other hardware in my machine is:
- Asus Rampage IV Formula/bf3
- I7 3930K overclocked @ 4.7GHz 24/7
- Noctua NH-D14
- 4x4GB Corsair Dominator @1600
- 2x OCZ Vertex 4 256GB
- 1TB Western Digital Black
- 2x Noctua NF-F12 fans
- Cooler Master HAF X Case fans (front 140mm, back 120mm, top 200mm and door 200mm)
- Asus Xonar Essence STX

So is the platinum 1000w big enough or should I get a bigger PSU in terms of power?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Your power supply is more than capable of handling your system after the upgrade. You can overclock as much as you want and not have to worry about overloading the PSU.

Im running a corsair 1050W psu using dual titans and i7 3930k @4.7GHz no problem
But.......when i overclock the titans using modded bios and 1.3V i belive it takes up to 1300W (only use for benching).
Jpmboy has reported the 1300w using an almost identical setup as mine with heavily oc'd titans.

But unless you plan on doing some serious gpu overclock then im sure youll be fine

Nah I'm not planning on overclocking the graphics cards at all. So I guess everything is fine. smile.gif
