Hi, i just bought me an Samsung 8705ZE with a 1 TB 5400 RPM harddrive. It feels terrible! Does anyone got an idea on how to change the harddrive into an ssd? It seems like i have to screw the entire backplate to get to the HDD, im just wondering if its safe etc.

No there should be a small access cover to remove

And Samsung 8705ZE isn't the model of the machine. I think you need to find a different number on it.

You just bought yourself a what?

If it's a laptop then yes, you will need to remove the laptop hard drive cover, it's perfectly safe so just take your time. If you want to take some pictures it'd make it a bit easier, but in all honesty it's pretty much plug and play.

I assume you're going to rebuilt the machine rather than take an image and restore it.

I do realize i gave you close to no information, i'm sorry.

Yes, it is a laptop, and the right name is 870Z5E

I was lurking on youtube right now and i found this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0_cMzmRBBk . ( I had no idea my PC was called an ATIV book, im sorry) So i dont need your help on this anymore.

To the question above, Yes i am actually going to try to clone the disk since i dont have any CD-Drive or windows key. Do you ahve any tips on how to do that?

Well,

Your windows key will be on the bottom of the laptop anyway, if you also have a look you "should" be able to write some restore CD's

If you do have a windows code you can download the OS from digital river

http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/14709-Windows-7-Digital-River-direct-links-Multiple-Languages-X86-amp-X64/page60

That's completely legal and it's not breaking any licensing laws biggrin.gif

Oh to copy the disk use acronis disk copy I think it's called biggrin.gif

Cheers
