If workers are stopping, you have instability showing AFAIK

Don't use prime, you might as well be going out of your way into making it nothing but a giant calculator. You need to do more than just silly synthetic crap like prime, especially if you're BCLK overclocking, as high enough it does overclock the PCI bus. You need to test 3D / gaming.

Just use it as you would day to day.

Prime95 blend is very much like gaming, a mix of CPU and RAM tests, I've yet to have any BSODs in game even with a couple if hours of Prime Blend. For me this test is the only one I've found that means none of my daily tasks fail.

I don't think most are running a huge bclk oc, maybe 1-3mhz at most.

It's enough to cause some GPUs to kick out. Prime is nothing like gaming, please don't post misinformation

Which version of Prime95 do you use?

@ 4.5Ghz Prime gives: FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4 Hardware failure detected, consult stress .txt file,

Is that a reason to up the Vcore? I have difficulty to believe this, like Silent Scone mentioned when all I do is use this clockspeed for gaming.

For example, my CPU does 4.5Ghz with max 1600 RAMspeed stable in Prime at 1.36V
while 4.5GHZ passes Intel Burn easilly at 1.34V with 2133 RAMspeed!!!

My point is, Prime stops a worker because of a 'miscalculation' but I highly doubt that in gaming a core will stop functioning biggrin.gif or crash the game, agree?

You're not "solid stable" if your CPU is getting basic calculations incorrect, it's up to you if you're fine with that happening in a game. You probably wouldn't easily run into fatal problems, but as a matter of principle i'd make sure i was prime stable on an ivy CPU.

It's nothing but a chip degrader, it's a synthetic test it has no relative comparison to using a PC for gaming unless it's copping out within 10-15 minutes.

Just use the machine, if and when you get a hiccup, dependant on what code it is or where up the relevant voltages.

I won't need 4.5Ghz for some time anyway I guess while gaming. In Battlefield 4 the load is about 90% with 4.25Ghz...

Now I use for gaming 4.4Ghz @ 1.29V with 2133 RAM 11-12-11-28-1 and that's fully stable in Prime.

Do you have any suggestions to get my 4.5Ghz more stable with higher RAM clock's?

I use the new Prime version indeed 10-15 minutes to check stability. The older versions took much longer to run into 'worker stopped' notifications...smile.gif

Do you have any idea what's the main issue when RAM speed has to be lowered for stability?
