I'd say so. And that's my real concern with APU advancements-- memory bandwidth.
They can keep obfuscating the comparison with a GPU that's available at DDR3 or DDR5 rates, like Intel's HD graphics compared to a GeForce GT 440, but we all know DDR3 DRAM isn't going to get us near those DDR5 clocks. So, unless they compensate with triple or quad channel support, which is essentially a larger bus width to a discrete GPU, they are not going to compare to the GDDR5 based units we'd target around here.
My guess is that they're going to cough up some more ROPs, and possibly some more TMUs, too. This is a great step, but still will result in a bandwidth starved unit at high resolutions. Looking forward to what the SR cores do for IPC, though. Hopefully these are "the APU worth waiting for".
