ChooseMyPC.net Sleeving Color Test Website

Hey folks!

Thought you may be interested in this:

http://www.choosemypc.net/sleeving/3colours.html?colour1=00003d&colour2=ada6ad&colour3=050505

I made this website as a little side project, it isn't fancy at the moment and doesn't work well on monitors with a resolution lower than 1080p, but I thought you may be interested and I have some ideas to develop it further I need help with!

As the most popular sleeving forum I am aware of I have come here for some help!

Instead of having a situation where any color can be chose I would love to be able to add photo-realistic imagery of paracord available on the market. However I need pictures of paracord for that!

I require High Res pictures of paracord at least 12" in length and straight as an arrow across the picture. Top to bottom of picture if possible but Ill be cropping and rotating them anyway so a big side by side of a ton of it with the names of the different colors would be awesome.

Need it in any possible color you can imagine. The more the better. If you would like to help, submit any pictures you have here in a reply and I'll just start an imgur album.

Thanks!

That's a very neat implementation of a very good idea.

Edit: Just a thought but could you use the sampler in a image editing program to find the RGB numbers for various colours of sleeve and then have them as presets so for example you choose MDPC-X Neon Green or Lutro0s Goldenrod paracord and the colours are automatically populated.

That's a very good idea actually, if the RGB values hardcoded look very similar to the actual sleeving it would save a LOT of work compared to manually taking pictures of everything and having tons of images. It would also be undoubtedly more uniform.

Then you could just use a palette of colors (and there's the possibility of crowdsourcing that or adding custom colors yourself).

I've just experimented and I don't think my idea will work as it doesn't account for the texture of the material e.g.

Lutro0s paracord

Quick sample

Close, but not close enough

Then a comparison with texture overlaid:

You don't get the richness of color you would from a photo
