And that case is nasty cheap with a big price tag.

And,I hate to say this, the second case looks like a lian li.....i like it but its not imaginative.
Scotts AntiMac would of been better, shame he didn't enter.....

Not many Lian li back then w/ chambers dedicated to wc. Sure, there were massive cases with separate chambers but clearly those were meant for air cooling. And yes, with some modding you can make it work. But to see a design like this, I really can't recall something similar other then the TJ07 (though its not a facsimile of the SS tbh).

I guess from my perspective, I'm more wc biased, I found that design better. But opinions will vary depending on what a person perceives a case's use for hers/his needs. Also, I can see that you have an eye for form but I prefer function first. Nothing wrong with that and love what you're doing w/ your new itx case design.

Thanks, still got that rolling on the back burner,a nice steady progression with that one...im in no rush.

The Phobya/Bit-tech contest was circa 2010-2011, well before this published rig. I do recall this build and its still very impressive though thumb.gif

Do we have WC dedicated Lian Lis now? I'd love one...

I haven't seen one completely wc oriented but their designs usually have some wc support or can be converted. Lian Li usually is a form following case designer. Which results in some elegant looking cases smile.gif

I love my v1010, but I desperately want to hold my rads inside, so I'm switching case. It's too much work to mod this case frown.gif

Their WC support is usually just a pair of holes for tubing, period. In cases with 2 fans at the top, fan spacing is not 15mm but higher (it seems to me), so dual rad is hard to set up there.

In fact, without him, I'm afraid we'd still be years behind where we are right now. He was a major driving force into the modding realm. It's only really been the last couple of years other companies have taken note of things like watercooling accessories, sleeve, etc.

Though, I'm not a fan of this chassis at all, I was a much bigger fan of the other chassis that was rendered.... Proteus. That sucker was slick as hell. The contest was rigged, kinda like Florida back in George Dubbya days.... ah well. Life goes on.
Here's Proteus.

Precisely my sentiments (and what I mentioned in the op). Mick64 should have won frown.gif

Though, this was a few years ago, I believed it was the best and most forward-looking design. Its interesting on how many aspects are now common.

Agreed, but we have to move on. The decision was made, and we should actually be applauding Phobya for introducing a new chassis into the marketplace. Phobya is still a very small company, so this is quite a feat and more options for consumers is always good. It means we (and yes, I'm talking as a modder/watercooler) have a variety to choose from, and that other companies have to step up their game and be more competitive. None of this is bad for the marketplace or for consumers, which in the end, is what we all care about.

Do I wish Proteus would have won? Yes. Would I build in the Black Owl? Most definitely! So, let's give credit to Phobya for branching out, because it's not easy to take a major leap like this. I'm sure it will be a success and we'll see many awesome builds in it. thumb.gif

Maybe caselabs can do a Joint Venture with Phobya and actually produce the Proteus *cough*

Anyway, off-topic, didn't you used to rep NZXT?
