What is core parking?

What is parking? I'm overclocked at 4.5ghz on my 6300 with +.182 offset. I have the power saving features enabled. I don't really care about the bill; I'm renting, but I do want to prolong the life of the cpu, considering it's overclocked and all. Now, occasionally I run I to an unresponsive screen on wake up, and I can't figure out if it's the offset or the c6. There is no much use running offsets if I don't take advantage of the cnq features. I'm tempted to blame the c6 for this. Any input?

Core Parking and C6 are the same thing (a processor sleep state). The CPU will disable unused logical cores when you're not doing CPU-intensive multi-threaded tasks and switch them back on when you are. Might as well try disabling C6 to see if that fixes the problem.
