If you are going to be running those sickleflows at full speed think again; theyre really loud.

I use headphones, unless it is so loud that you can hear it over them I haven't got a problem with fan noise

Alright man; good luck with your build then.

There are tons of other Red-LED fan options out there; no need to justify these sickleflows.... I hope this will be a case fan and not a radiator fan wink.gif

Are you set on red LEDs in your case fans? If not, silverstones AP122's give higher airflow and lower volume (dB) for the same price

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=9_510&products_id=21836

Have you checked umart's prices for your components as well?

Edit: also, what are you using these fans for; for the radiator or just as extra case fans?

It will definitly be a case fan, the stock corsair fans with the cooler are pretty good right?

The stock fans are good in terms of the static pressure they produce (high static pressure is needed for radiator/heatsink fans) so they are completely fine to use. I say 'fine' rather than 'great' because those stock fans are also fairly loud.

Corsairs SP120's and Scythes Gentle Typhoon AP-15's also have high static pressure but are significantly quieter. Then again, you said you wear headphones so maybe it's less of an issue for you smile.gif

Theyre the loudest fans i own; if thats what youre asking. The stock fans just spin at a super high RPM like 2500 and are ridiculously loud.

By the way; you will need to run the fan at 100% if you want the full red LED light to glow up. If you are going to undervolt it, the LED light will also dim down; and if you put it low enough sometimes the LED light will start to flicker.

The sickleflows are absolutely not the best fans people here on OCN recommend. But if you're really that much in love with them; then i guess to each his own right ? rolleyes.gif

there are hidden factors in play here in Australia; cost plays a larger-than-typical role

Prime example:

That is very true, fleetfeather. You have a strong valid point here.

But is there seriously no other fan besides the sickleflow available? Seriously; those fans are nothing like the specs list them as....

haha, the Silverstone AP122's, Bit Fenix Spectre Pro's and Cougar CF-V12H's come in at the same price as the sickleflows here.

My preference would be the AP122's or the Cougar's
