Dual HD 7770, or 78-7900 series?

I recently ordered my new Vishera rig (wooo! So long sigrig), and am having some second thoughts on my choice of GPU. I threw in a budget-worthy HD 7770 with the idea that I could just throw in another one for Crossfire next week when some money comes in. After reviewing some benchmark comparisons for various 2013 games of the 7770 and 78 and 7900 series cards, or even the 7790, Ive noticed an average of 15 fps increase across the board on most games. (Even the 7790 outstrips the 70 by a mile for virtually the same price. *Facepalm*) So my question is, can I throw in a duplicate card and expect frames equal to that of a 7800 series card, or should I just invest in a bigger single card? Thanks ahead of time.

A single bigger card. Crossfire doesn't scale well with the lower-midrange cards. Deiniftely just wait until the 9xxx series and just get a 78-79xx card.

I say this because it you'd probably have to buy a bigger PSU to do Crossfire, and you'll get better performance out of a single better card, not to mention you have the option of upgrading to Crossfire with a better card in the future and prolong buying a new system for even longer.

Well... something strange appeared in web. You should check it before you will buy it.

for now i would wait a bit, just to make sure that you will be able or not to buy 7950 for the price of 7790

Consider this as a roumor. Nothing is known for sure yet. However the premiere of higher end should be in this month so i would hold on anyway.
