Windows 7 Locking up

Hey guys, haven't been on here in ages. Looks like it's that time to get back into computing.

Anyways here is my problem. Years ago when the ATI-4850 was still a good card I had it go bad on my. I would get artifacting everywhere and the computer would start crashing.

I bought an ATI 5870 to replace it from a buddy a year or so ago. Everything starting working fine, video playback was nice until all the sudden, Windows 7 would lock up. Certain elements would work and others wouldn't. For instance, audio playback would still be working in itunes while everything else in windows would lock up. The app would be somewhat transparent and everything would free including windows itself.

Sometimes it would crash and other times it will unfreeze and be fine. It only does this when using apps like firefox, itunes etc. Whenever I'm playing a game, it's never done this to me. Not a single time. Here is a crash dump report after a BSOD

I have a feeling it's just a bad video card, I don't think it would be a board since it was working fine when I started having the video card issues.

Can you post your minidump (C:\Windows\Minidump\110512-6723-01.dmp) ?

Monitor your mobo temps, anything getting abnormally high? Run memtest a few times to check your memory, when you can. How old is your PSU? Do you or could you get your hands on another one to test with? Lastly, any bios updates available for your board?
