[MS] Nokia was actively testing Android on Lumia before selling handset division to Microsoft - Page 7

I went from iOS to Windows OS. iOS had a much better quality of life than Windows OS.

There's a lot of little issues with Windows, nothing game breaking, but really irritating. For example, why can't I just close programs, why do I gotta keep mashing back. Why is the music volume linked to ringer volume.... Why is there not a forward button on IE. Why do I have to swipe and then hit the answer button when I get a call.

They're all things that could easily be fixed but for whatever reason haven't been.

I don't really care either way though, Lumia 1020 camera is that good.

The apps are meant to self close. This is part of the WP application life cycle. You should forget you left them open and let the OS handle it. For more information on how life cycles work in WP (and Android is very similar) see: http://ayyanar.blogspot.com/2013/02/windows-phone-8-application-life-cycle.html

The music volume is linked to the ringer volume so we don't wind up with a terrible mess in the interface and mistakes with what volumes are set where. This might seem detrimental to you but a lot of end users benefit from the simplicity. I personally like it because I always want my phone at mute, mid, or max for everything that comes through it.

You swipe before clicking answer so the phone can't self answer in your pocket. What if that happened for an important call like a job interview? You'd curse the phone for not having some sort of protection against that.

All these little things you describe in WP8 are the same in Android.....
