Pro Audio Software (What do you use?)

Looking to buy and mostly curiosity.

Just wanted to get a feel for what recording software people are using. My father has been using a Mac for years; it's finally died on him but I've convinced him to go for a pc. As for software though, I have no idea what we should go with. We're both jazz musicians and we do a bit of recording of quartet work and such.

Anyways, if there any other content creators out there, what are you all using for recording, editing and etc?

FLStudio or Adobe Audition come to mind.

I've used Audacity quite a bit, it's free, but I don't know that it supports multitrack recording. It does fine recording a stereo mix however.

I've used Ableton Live and Pro Tools M-Powered. Both are really useful though Pro Tools probably has the best plugin support for audio effects
