Dual Screen Information Help

Hey guys, on my next upgrade im thinking of getting dual monitors because i do a ton of multitasking and usually run out of space even with a widescreen resolution. But before i decide on something i actually wanted to find out some stuff about them since i never actually seen a setup like that.

some questions:

Is it hard to set up or is it like plug and play?

How does the start button appear? on both? or just 1?

do items, windows and cursors simply slide off to the next screen if u go over the "edge"?

How does it affect performance?

Do both monitors need to be identical?

How does opening fullscreen games and like putting say windows media player on fullscreen work? does it just go on fullscreen on the screen u opened it in?

Anyways, thats all i can think of for now, would really appreciate help with my nooby question ^ ^. Also feel free to give any other information u think is worth the read

you can basically have it setup so you have one desktop going, one start menu, and it just extends the taskbar over to the other moniter. They don't have to be the same, although I recommend it. I'm not sure about full screen games, I'm almost positive it'll slow down performance.

You can drag one window on screen one over to screen two by click n' drag.

do items, windows and cursors simply slide off to the next screen if u go over the "edge"? Yes, they move over as if it's one screen.

How does it affect performance? Not entirely sure, but hasn't seemed to affect me much.

Do both monitors need to be identical? No, but is optimal as they'd be the same size, height, etc.

They can either stay on one screen, or they can go on both. But that would be awkward as there is the screen borders in the middle.

Answers in the quote.

Check out this wallpaper. You can see how FahMon has "bled" onto the other screen.

I don't find it effects performance in games, I have a 21" CRT and 19" LCD running.

im using ultramon, you mean right click on the shortcut to the game, choose the ultramon - window tab and choose cutsom settings, open on monitor 2, monitor one being the primary, and it still opened up on monitor 1.
