Mixing GPUs?

I just recently built a new rig and I got the Radeon 7970. But I just got into 3d modeling and as it turns out only Nvidia is supported for gpu rendering. So I was wondering if I could get a less expensive Nvidia and have both on my mobo and just switch when I want to render something. I've been searching for about an hour now and it looks like a go but I just want a second opinion.

Hello,

The answear is yes , You can have them both in there and switch but THEY CAN NOT BE CROSS FIRED OR SLI'D (OBY)
but one can be a gaming card and the other can chill in there for a phys x card biggrin.gif

Thanks for the straight answer! I really only want the Nvidia to do blender gpu rendering so this will work out great. Thanks again!
