AMD 7790 vs AMD 7850 vs Anything price/performance

was wondering what you guys think of this GPU I am currently still in the market for a new GPU to upgrade my amd 4870 ( which is dying slowly and has been baked x5 times)

you can grab some of these cards for around 110 bucks maybe 100 if you lucky. Is there really anything better bang for my buck at the 100-130 bucks tops? I wanted to save a few extra bucks for a new headset so i can't stretch budget higher than 130, i do love the prices for the 7950 going for 200 wish i had budget for it.

Keep in mind i run 22 inch single monitor and wont upgrade for atleast few years ( 1680x1050 res )

P.S- weird thing these have their own separate drivers which makes me nervous and how much will they continue to update on it.

wow thats an amazing price. thumb.gif the only issue is the 1GB VRAM. but since you are on a tight budget go for it. HD 7850 is atleast 30 - 35% faster than HD 7790 at stock. and close to 50% faster when both cards are OC'd. HD 7850 scales like a beast due to its 256 bit memory and 32 ROPs while HD 7790 cannot because of 128 bit memory and 16 ROPs. the sapphire dual x is a very good cooler.

I was advised to go with the 8750 over the 77xx for speed and good things. It is better at video editing and mining.
But look for 7950's about now. I found one on sale here recently for just a tiny bit more than I payed for the 7850 frown.gif

my one concern is price drops everywhere nowadays is sporadic.

http://www.amazon.com/HIS-GDDR5-PCI-E-Graphics-H785F2G2M/dp/B007MJGN5I/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1379184180&sr=1-5&keywords=amd+7850

this HIS 2gb version is now 135.
