Daisy chain 4 fans on one 30w channel via Swiftech hub?

Hi,

I got a Sentry Mix 2 fan controller to replace my trusty Kaze Q12. It supports 30W per channel.

I was thinking of soldering a male 3 pin fan connector on the molex power line of the Swiftech 8 way PWM splitter and hooking 4x 3pin fans up to a single channel on the controller.

Would I run into any issues with the small cable gauge of the 3 pin male connector wire leading into the controller?

I will be running 4x 0.996W fans (AP-15's)

I don't think the swiftech 8 way splitter will work!! I really think you woul dbe better off making a fan harness and going to your fan controller with it..

Also power will not be any problem.

No it works for sure, I tested it. I'm just curious if one fan wire will fry if daisy chained to 4 different fans. It's pretty thin

good it will work I could not remember how the board is connected..

you will be fin with one fan wire!! even if it is 26 AWG it is rated for 2.2 amps and this is 26.4 watts so you should be fine as I think fan wire is 24 if not 22 awg!!

I was gonna use a 26AWG but I also have a 24AWG to play with. 24 it is thank you!

Ah, I think I will use the Nzxt fan hub instead. It's just easier to hide behind the motherboard tray. Slimmer profile

I simply soldered a Molex male to 3 pin male connector that I will use to connect the Nzxt fan hub to channel 1 on the controller.

Works very well =)
Cheers for the help, +1
