Intel Motherboard Overclock

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

I'm new here and i haven't done any major overclocking of a cpu before. I just got a new Intel DP965LT motherboard with an E6600 from Micro Express. I have been looking all over the internet for a way to overclock it, but i have come up empty. The general consensus seems to be that i can't. I have checked my bios and there does not seem to be any option unlocked in it. Am I just missing something. Do I need a new bios. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Micro Express did not seem like a very big company that would lock there boards like the other ones, but who am I to answer that one.

Thanks again

That board is not an enthusiast board.

There won't be many, if any overclocking options

Your MB is an Intel board, not a Micro Express board. Micro Express just sold the board. Since I can't really locate them, do you have a link?

D*965XX boards from Intel for NO WAY of overclocking. None at all. They use a PLL that no one knows how to use. I could only monitor temps on my DG965WHMKR with coretemp and atitool. No board-bound temps monitors.

If you want to overclock, you'll have to RMA that board and pick up something from Asus, Gigabyte, Abit, etc.
