Logitech G500s thumb buttons not working with TeamSpeak3

Thread Starter
So I recently purchased a G500s, happy that I would be able to use push to talk with the ease of thumb buttons.

I set them up in TeamSpeak3 and assigned it to the lower middle thumb button not a problem.

I then proceed to install Logitech Gaming Software, everything still working fine.

After rebooting my computer the push to talk has unbound the key and will not let me re assign the key, I thought it would be the LGS interfering so I uninstall it and try to re bind the keys, but it wont register in TS3 that the keys are being pushed

The buttons function in other applications just fine but it's bugging me that I can't get TS3 and LGS to play nicely.

Any ideas guys? Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I don't have the G500s, I have the older G500 though and my thumb button works just fine after setting it to act as one of the function keys, in my case F8.
I've attached a screenshot of my setup, I actually found this to work very well for Mumble as well. It might be worth trying out considering I've got all three (mumble, TS3 and the logitech software) working without any issues.

Thanks for the help, I kind of fixed this by switching the settings to inboard mouse memory then binding the key as the music stop function which then allowed to me set it in ts3. I figured I would never need to stop music while ts3 was open for push to talk so it hasn't been a compromise in any way.

Just so you know the only difference between the g500 and g500s is the paint job and a more accurate laser

Glad you worked it out.

Interestingly I didn't realise that the mice made use of the onboard memory (by default?). Turns out that the settings I showed above are also on my onboard memory as opposed to the software's configuration files as I initially thought.

Mine was set to computer config by default

That middle mouse button has to be bound to another key if you want to use it like that. This is a limitation of Windows if I'm correct.

On my old g500 I bound it to scroll lock and used that as my PTT.

The issue is probably resolved now, but just in case, something I discovered, was that in my case (using Mac osx on MacPro in COD4) the downloaded Logitech software shows that the button has programmed, but in game it refused to work. I remembered I had recently downloaded and installed a program called USB Overdrive. As soon as I deleted USB Overdrive, all of the functionality on the mouse, and the programmed key (middle thumb mouse button) all started to work, seems obvious now tha`t you can't really have two bits of software trying to control mouse functionality at the same time, besides you only really need the Logitech Gaming software.
