Audio stuttering when HDD performs some heavy job

Thread Starter
Hello guys!

I've noticed some strange problem since I've added one SSD to my system. Before it was fine (at least I didn't notice anything).

When HDD is performing some heavy task like loading a big level in some games (or just reading big files) and while I'm listening to some music, the audio starts to stutters (crackling/popping) and I've no idea why. Any suggestions? smile.gif

System is installed on SSD if that matters. Setupin my profile is up-to-date.

Regards

I have had exactly this in the past and couldn't quite put my finger on it.

My boot disk and software install disk was an SSD. All the music was on a HDD. I didn't get stuttering all the time, but sometimes a song would jump like its having trouble reading.

I had the proper SATA controller drivers installed. I have changed systems so many times since then and don't have the same problem anymore.

I'd be keen to see what people think causes this.
