Are you using the heatsink feet?

I could. I removed them when I was making do with taller bitspower d-plugs but now that I got male-male rotary fittings, I can use them and not worry about space too much. It is easier to just have the heatsink on though. If it rattles too much, I will either lift the whole thing off the floor a bit or velcro the heatsink to the floor.

looks like the bitspower 400 is a bit too big. I have 360mm clearance between the mid plate & the top rad. So, it looks like i'll be going with the 250 since I need ~30mm for the pump & heatsink.

You can do some cool stuff with that big BP res:

Darlene

so you run the res inverted to make that work I take it? I'm assuming this since one end has only one port.

Yep, the 400 won't fit with your mid plate and top rad. 250 will fit just fine.

=( too bad PPC is sold out of the one I want. Guess i'll be ordering from FCPU. Actually, I may just order the white top variant, FCPU prices are ~10$ higher than PPC.

I'm still debating if I want to spend the 150$ on the EK block, just to use the VRM channel.

think this should do it.

The plans for this tear down are...

A.) Motherboard shroud, built by the one & only Lebestia!
B.) 250ml (270mm) bitspower tube res.
C.) Moving the Aquearo to the front of the case... (Maybe?) I really would like to keep it inside the case, I might end up sticking it below the GPU's... not sure...
D.) Buying the full block kit, BUT ONLY USING THE VRM CHANNEL for now. biggrin.gif

oh, E.) PICTURES FROM THE NEW CAMERA~!!!!!

I was looking at running 3 of the 400mm res's in a horizontal layout in the stretch build, but it just doesn't work with where the linear actuators for the side panel have to go, so that's when I came up with the dual res adapter plate for the BP dual D5 pump tops.

I'll be using 1 and possibly 2 of the 400's on my tech bench, in a horizontal layout . . . which hopefully arrives this week.

You could set the res's up anyway you want, pretty much.

I used the single port cap to run the cathode tube in, and the 3 port cap for "out", "in", and "fill/bleed".

The pic has an internal jet tube on the "inlet" to give that fountain wash effect.

If the res were vertical, it would create a spiral/cyclone effect. . . . or you could do multiple alternating rotation spiral layers with different hole placements in the jet tube.

No reason you couldn't do the same mods to a 250.

Thx for the input @IT Diva The "Jet tube" did you just use a dip tube on the inlet to make that?

No, it's a full length acrylic tube with small holes in the side:

Different hole patterns would give different jet effects, and not plugging the end would give a waterfall in a vertical res..

Darlene

I think the waterfall res and photon res stole my ideas.

I have pics on my log and "how to" posts for both the cathode and jet tube mods from about a year ago.
