With your dual 35X pumps, that's got to be starving them.

Next time you pull it down for something, you may want to swap it out for the less restrictive one.

I ended up going without the anti vortex. Seems totally fine. Rest is super calm. even with the pumps running on full speed.I definitely need to get a flow meter next time I do a tear down I'm curious if the dual pump is giving me enough flow

I would expect the need increases as the res tube becomes shorter, and particularly where the res is mounted directly over the impeller intake and the res is less full.

I've never used one in horizontal res tube configurations, and never an issue, but I always use it for vertical tubes. . . . . better to err on the side of caution

.

I think most thicker thermal pads do this, like the non-grey thermal pads. I have 2mm & 3mm thick pads from Koolance that do this as well.

I showed BramSLi1... He said while they do have the ability to secrete a small amount of fluid, they should never do this...

^^ This picture is a new one. Just took it now. Iv'e had the thermal pads off for almost 4 days now. Still almost no evaporation. Just pointing that out to anyone who may say "your pump is leaking" which it IS NOT!

Got my LED connectors/bridges in today. This means I can wrap it up & turn her on by tonight!

So much easier than soldering wires directly to the LED strip contacts.

You might like the new EK all metal housings with a semblance of fins and a large air vent hole, for the 35X or other DDC variants.

Comes in chrome and black, and the little rubber vibration dampers are included.

The thermal pad fits the full pcb with a hole in the center for the hub area which doesn't get hot anyway.

Here's the pump setup for my tech bench:

@IT Diva

Those do look nice! They look much better in your photos than how they look in product demo photos... I thought about grabbing them, but I ran into a few issues. A.) The pumps are touching each other with the stock Swiftech top, & B.) lack of space in my case with the res mounted vertically. I have about 1.5-2mm of room between the input fitting & my top rad.

I stumbled across something I want to do in my next case though. I want to mount my tube res horizontally with the Aquaero behind it. Causing a magnification effect on the screen. tongue.gif I haven't tested it yet, BUT IT SOUNDS AWESOME IN MY MIND MAN!!!

:Hookahsmiley:

These are the pads swiftech includes with it's heat sink. They have a plastic film on one side that you do not remove.

actually, redact that... The pumps are NOT touching on the 35x2 stock top. tongue.gif still probably wouldn't fit, as it's only a 2-3 mm gap.

I didn't see that the metal was any noticeably thicker than the plastic housing it replaces, it should fit fine.

Ping Derick a PM and see if they've tested it.

oohhhh... It actually replaces the the stock housing... I envisioned it as a wrapper that the pump slides into. If that's the case, then scratch all of that... Though, they are still under warranty, & sport both stickers so I would be slightly hesitant to bust the warranty seals.
