FAH only uses 1 core on an i3-550

Thread Starter
I'm running newest client on i3-550, 4GB of RAM and a HD4650 (not folding on it).

My CPU usage is around 25%, I have HT turned on so FAH is only using a single core.

I set the CPU to 4 threads / cores in folding at home advanced settings, and my folding power is at full.

I'm running 10450 (104, 1, 129)
Any thoughts?

Hmm, not sure really.

You could always specify the number of cores to use manually.

Right click F@H system tray icon -> Advanced Control -> Configure -> Slots -> edit on the CPU slot, then put 4 in place of the -1 under CPU.

That's what I did arrowheadsmiley.png

Right now I'm getting 1000 ppd, might as well not fold on this i3 if I can't make it use 4 threads

Oh, right, it helps if I read, sorry.  Not sure then.

Hmm, it seems the WU I've got assigned to only uses a single core lol.

I added another WU and my CPU usage got maxed out.

By "added another WU" do you mean you added a second CPU slot? If so, you should probably delete the first one, as having two CPU slots fighting for even a single core's resources is bad for both of them.

Actually if there's two slots the best thing to do would be to have the one with the 10450 set to Finish so that it completes its WU without getting a new one, then delete that slot; the other slot would probably best be served running on 3 threads until this is done. The Pande Group doesn't really like WUs getting killed manually since it takes many days for the servers to assign them to other donors. But I realize this might be kind of annoying.
