getting a new 5.1 surround sound setup

Thread Starter
Since i just got a new tv to hook up to my computer i was wondering about setting up 5.1 surround sound and keeping it cheap. I found this home theater in a box:

and i was wondering what kind of cables i would need to connect it to a hdmi connection. I have noticed that some soundbars have a input and output hdmi connections but idk what to do with this one. and tips for a sound newbie?

That's just speakers and a sub, you would still need to buy a receiver to connect it all. You can find 5.1 receivers $100-150 used or $200-250 new entry level.
