Ivy-Bridge E (need some advice)

Thread Starter
Hello,

I am working on a brand new build, i would like to use an i7-4820k with a MSI X79A-GD45 Plus. I know that x79 motherboards will need a new bios update in order to support the new intel Ivy-Bridge e CPU's. This is my question, most likely the MSI X79A-GD45 Plus will not come with the updated bios, and being that i dont have a Sandy-Bridge e processor to use while i install the new bios what are my options? Will it support the CPU long enough for me to flash the bios? is there any way to do it without the CPU (i know asus supports this)?

There are some new LGA 2011 boards on the way

Those wont need a BIOS update

Welcome to OCN by the way
