New screen.

Connected only to PC and is used for it only. No cable/sat or anything else apart from PC.
Looking into upgrading my 42" LG to something better and bigger.

Still not sure about LED vs Plasma. LCD is a no go for now, am pretty pissed at it. Having stuttering and areola effects in movies with fast action scenes is frustrating. Not sure how to describe it properly.
I'm thinking 60-70 inch size. Would go bigger but the budget doesn't allow smile.gif
It's my primary and only monitor, so yeah, usage is for everything.
Don't care about any features. The best would be just a monitor without any software in it at all. All those apps are useless for me, so is 3D.

The ones that are on table are some Panasonic plasmas, VT ones. Awesome picture on 50" (they didn't had 60 installed). Expensive, but picture quality does look like win.
Sharp AQUOS LED screens. Cheaper for bigger sizes.

Any thoughts?

LED Screens are LCD screens....
Unless your talking about backlighting, a LED TV is just a LCD screen with LED Back lighting.

Plasma would be the way to go for picture quality, but for a desktop I would worry about burn in.

The Effect you might have with fast moving stuff might be because your TV has smooth motion, I would go through your TV's menu and turn anything like that off. It is a tech they toss on 120/240hz tv's, but all it does it screw with your head. Turn it off.

Done it. All the "awesome" stuff is disabled. All the crap tossed into TV that I could find in options. Still getting some, not constantly but it is there.
Burn in is what concerns me too. And it was reason I bought LCD last time...
Probably you're right about LED. Aquos I'm looking at is LC-70LE632U. Just browsing the web... I don't have anything specific for now.
