Exhaust Vent idea?

Hey guys, my computer runs well within good temps for how I have it now. But the problem is my computer is only my floor, the only practical place to put it given my desk.

The problem is that I have a positive pressure airflow, so I only have 1 real way for air to get out, the exhaust fan. But with this, ALOT of hot air is exhausted, which heats up my room.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way I could funnel this air though some kind of pipe or something just to let it exhaust the air somewhere else...like the hallway.

Anyone thought of something like this or have any ideas for me?

The exhaust vent is 140mm but can take 120mm.

How much money? How ugly can you live with?

A few lengths of dryer vent pipe and some duct tape would work.

This

What you really need is a ceiling fan. Even a small fan blowing out into the hallway would help a lot.

Problem is the way the underside of my desk is is there isn't any any real real way for air to escape.

just a simple fan "hanging" from the desk pointed "outwards" to the room will already work wonders... actually a simple deskfan in the doorway will help.

Of course, as pointed out, it can be done better, just a matter of money and how "ugly" you can allow for it. ....

I once build a complete intake & exhaust system out of Pringles tubes smile.gif

Amazing what you can use them for ...

my first attempt would be to try to locate a return vent for the central HVAC system if one is installed... and then set the computer by that or exhaust into it with a clothes dryer extension hose.

or you could just buy the extension hose and an inline fan and exhaust it out a window with a rectangular register vent on the window side so you could still close the window down and seal it.

style to taste...
