Keeping heavy headphones elevated?

I have a pair of Creative Aurvana Live headphones, and I like them well enough, but their weight causes them to continually push down on my head and that quickly becomes irritating, and eventually painful.
Increasing the length doesn't seem to help because, as I said, they're just so heavy. Any attempt to raise them fails because they just drop back down.

Anyone know of a way to keep them off my head, or at least alleviate how heavily they push down?

Take a rubber band and put it across the top so they squeeze your head more.

BRILLIANT!

Seems to be working, although not as intended.
Instead of squeezing tighter the band is working as a second bridge so the heaphones can't fall down.
