I've been paying through the nose replacing my cartridges for years, and I'm getting quite sick of it. I'm wondering if anyone can share their experiences using third-party ink refills and offer any recommendations.

I would have explored this myself a long time ago, but in all frankness, I am extremely reluctant to support any side of the computer industry that engages in spam advertising, and ink cartridge refills are still a fairly prominent spam subject. Despite that, do reputable, good replacements for canon ink exist?

Please note that I am NOT asking for printer recommendations. Looking through some recent threads on this subject, it seems one of the most most common responses is "buy a laser jet" and that's not on the table. I use a Canon Pixma MP-970 and I'm not buying a new printer.

Thanks for any help!
