FX8320 Keeps declocking under load at stock clocks

Hey Guys

I'm having an issue with my FX8320 where, under load it keeps declocking to 2.9Ghz even though it running at stock clocks. I tried to disable cool and quiet, but it doesn't seem to help.

According to Core Temp the cpu is running at 43 degrees, so I don't believe temperature to be an issue.

Under bios disable APM and HPC as well as Cool and quiet, you can leave cool and quiet on but performance will suffer a bit. The APM is the one that usually downclocks cpus under load, HPC will also do this once temps reach a curtain point.

This did indeed fix my problem. I had to use AMD Overdrive to disable Turbo, but it fixed my problem once I did.

Huge thanks.

Be careful with disabling HPC. I'm pretty sure your motherboard maker set that to throttle your processor when the power consumption reached what they thought was the safe limit for that specific board.

HPC i believe only throttles the cpu when its idle and shouldn't effect anything if its turned off its more of an eco feature i believe id keep it on if thats that default option

My HPC was off by default on my ASUS board, so I agree that it's more of an Eco feature like APM and various other power savers built into BIOS.
