Looking for a new mechanical keyboard

I'm a user who does a LOT of typing day in and day out and I'm a student for computer science so this is my tool of life. I had thought about buying one of these http://codekeyboards.com/ however they don't even have an ETA for re-stock, so that's a bit frustrating. I had also thought about a Razer black widow ultimate 2013, but being that I use Linux mint, it would be hard to control it from a software standpoint. I had heard that Cherry MX Blue's are ideal for typists but I like the idea of the cherry MX Clear as well .I'm not sure what brands are considered better than others. I'm going to be upgrading from my 3 year (way too old) Logitech K350. Also, ill try to cap the budget at $300. Anything below is fair game.

Thanks.

Filco keyboards are typically known to have some of the best build quality. They are available from Amazon in any of the major switch types and also with or without the tenkey.

Blue switches with tenkey

Blue switches, tenkeyless

If you are interested in clears, there are fewer options. The best idea would be WASD keyboards.

Clear switch customizable, tenkey

Clear switch customizable, tenkeyless

Unles there is some shortage I don't know about, WASD should have their keyboards back in stock soon.

Thanks! I think I'll hold out until WASD comes back in stock because I'm going to go for a clear and I love the level of customization they have. I emailed them asking when the CODE keyboard would be back in stock and they didn't have an ETA, and I figured that some of the parts used in their v2 keyboard may be also used in the code keyboard so I figured those parts could be simultaneously out of stock thus a general ETA for both. I'm not sure though, just what I tried.

I just replaced two of my Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Mechanical PC Gaming Keyboard with Corsair's Vengeance K95 Gaming Keyboard. I've had them about a week and like the Vengeance over the BlackWidow. You may want to checkout some of the reviews to see if it's to your liking.

Define "soon". they're still out of stock Dx

I guess it's because of the huge mass waiting for the code keyboard

Actually, FYI there is a shortage on clears, tons of manufacturers are having a hard time ordering them, the WASD/Code keyboards with clears are basically out of stock until futher notice, and things are looking so good for them to be in stock any time soon.

As far as I know no one really knows why there are a shortage on clears, but I would suspect that more manufacturers are producing more boards, I know CM has made some clear and white switched prototypes, so i'm sure someone is buying them all up to hold on to for a bit.

The only place to find clears right now is buy them used or get lucky and find an online store that still has some in stock, basically you can't get new clears anywhere.

Filco Majestouch 2 or CMStorm Quickfire Rapid/XT

I am personally looking at the Quickfire Stealth, but also considering a full sized board and getting custom key caps...
