looking for some help on a audiophile setup for an android

I wan't to get a DAC/amp setup with a pair of cans for my android. My budget is around $300 for both the headphones and the DAC. I don't know exactly how a DAC works so if someone could enlighten me on potential problems with using a portable DAC on an android please let me know. I mostly listen to blues, rock, and metal.

thanks

Honestly, I think a DAC isnt something you want for a phone.

The music is generally so compressed that adding a DAC wont really do you much good compared to using Hi-Def music files.

What would help though is getting a good pair of headphones and a nice little pocket headphone amplifier to control the drivers better.

One that would be great for you that is pocket sized and kind "covert" is this JDS amplifier:

Music off itunes is not lossless. AAC files are compressed. But they aren't horrible quality and you would definitely benefit from a portable dac and amp but first and foremost you'd benefit the most from good headphones. Depending on which headphones you get will decide which dac and amp you get.

What is your budget?
