Get a cheap digital multimeter because it will be more accurate than software readings.

What brands of capacitors are in your 800W BFG? This review by HardwareCanucks shows one 800W model full of Jenpo brand caps. Jenpo is not a good brand and could explain why a 4-year-old BFG has become flakey because bad brands tend to wear out a lot faster than the good ones do. The only solution is to replace the bad ones, which are almost always in the low voltage parts of the PSU. OTOH Asus' anti-surge warning system is also flakey and gives lots of false alarms, so I'd first try turning it off in the BIOS setup.
