Cooling fan questions not running full speed?

Today I succesfully installed my Big Typhoon 120 VX in my box, I also changed 2 fans in my case... one infront to a 16,5 CFM fan, and one in the back to a 31,5 CFM fan. Now when I started the computer up it Alarmed me that there was no System Fan running, but I was kinda used to that cause when I had the old CPU cooler installed it alarmed during boot up that there was no CPU fan, which after awhile started showing RPM's in bios. So I thought maybe BT was simply better and now System was gonna Alarm, that wouldnt have bothered me so much since it used to Alarm for about 20 seconds.

But the Alarm didnt stop this time it just kept goin, so I disabled the sound since I could see with my own eyes the fan WAS in fact running. But was it running with 31,5 CFM? HARDLY, I dont think this even qualifies as 10 CFM, altough this is a 3-pin fan just like the old one and I put it at System fan Pins on the motherboard. It just doesnt seem to be running at maximum. I dont have a Fan controller installed so it cant be that, that's keeping the fan from running at full speed. The BT CPU cooler also have the same problem... I can barely feel any air/draft coming from the cooler, but since Im a total noob and this bein the first time I ever changed a CPU cooler maybe it Cools the heatsink by blowing air at it instead from it.

With One side open I get about 36 degrees in idle havent checked in load yet, but I did try with the side close, it then went up to 42 in idle and 47 in load thoose 5 mins I played Prey.

So anyone knows what's up? Is the fan broken or what? I just got it. I have tried change side of the fan, but with no better result. And oh yea I said I changed 2 fans... the front fan seems to be working fine.

So Please Help, Thank you.

Well, I had sort of the same problem, My parents Dell I changed the rear fan to a better one, and it said that I had a unhooked fan, sort of an alarm and it wouldnt let me boot up! All I did was plug that darn thing back in and went into bios and disabled the entire plug. It worked... And the fan worked in the same plug strangly. With your problem, im thinking its set to the older fan you might have to dig in the Bios somewhere or maybe it really is broken.

First: Try another CPU Fan see if it does the job, if not then its the bios or maybe the plug.

Second: Maybe you damaged something while taking the fan out? Look into that one...

Hope this helps a bit

Seems to be some problem with the System Fan pins on the motherboard or something, I tried plugging the fan to an Adapter and it worked, thats more like 31,5 CFM. However now I have 2 questions, 1: At what direction is the BT supposed to blow air? From the motherboard or At the motherboard so that it cools the metal plates or what you call it cause if it is From I cant say I feel any air blowing from the fan. Also I have set BT to blow max Air its the RPM I look at then, it should be 2000 RPM, but when I look in bios it shows only 1100 max... now MINIMUM is 1300 RPM's if I check this correctly, does the Bios lie to me or what?

and 2: This really creeps me out, all the sudden when I start Everest Home to check some temps the computer suddenly Alarms for some reason, I see that Motherboard temp is about 3 degrees which is wrong of course, I started Speedfan and the alarm stopped, but I opened my Case just in chase and WTH the Fan on the BT has stopped running for no reason. All I did was start Everest Home. It wasnt like this yesterday, Motherboard temp showed 33 then, but how can the CPU cooler just stop cause the temp is low isnt that what we all want it to be?

Please someone try help me out here I want the BT to run at least on a decent RPM level, and whats up with Everest Home?

Thanks.

Ah nevermind about the RPM thingy, found the solution in BIOS. However the Everest Home problem is still there. But Full speed at a BT and 46 in load? Sounds a little hot, oh well.

Lol, its all bad news with you XD hehe... well ok let see here...There might be a conflict with something... I have no idea what.. Does it do it everytime you run that program? If it does how bout use another program? XD

Try to uninstall it reinstall, then turn the pc off unplug press the power button while its unpluged to drain the power, and wait bout 1-2 mins then plug it back up. Run it agian see what happens.

What can I say? Im a troublesome guy Ive always had problems with computers

Anyway I did what you suggested and unplugged it and waited, and well the program seems to be running ok now without stopping my CPU fan, altough the temps are all weird but that doesnt matter, I only used it to check mostly HD temp anyways.

And downloading another program would just have been escaping from the problem, its like cheating on a test I dont like that, I wanna find the solution, which is why Im gonna try find some answers now why unplugging fixed this problem

Thanks for helping! Much appreciated.
