How to get rid of pump noise? - Page 2

Yes, but, if I used a speed controller, the voltage could be adjusted even more precise - on the point of getting the best performance under silent operation. smile.gif

A resistor could do the same thing without the expense but yes you are correct. A good fan controller for that pump would be http://koolance.com/ctr-spd1224-pump-or-fan-speed-controller or http://www.frozencpu.com/products/12820/ex-pmp-129/Koolance_CTR-SPD10_12V_Pump_or_Fan_Speed_Controller.html

The second one can over volt the pump a little bit. The first one I think only goes to 12V unless you use a jumper then it goes to 24v which is NOT ok for that pump.

Wait never mind I am wrong... the new one will go to 13v on the 12v jumper so it can overvolt the pump. It was made for DDC and D5S pumps.

I will definitely use a speed controller, as I need to tweak some case fans' speed too (all of them are running on molex, that means - on full speed). Of course, I could just feed them with 5V like I did with the pump, but heck with it, I wanted a universal speed controller for my fans & pump anyway smile.gif

You should at least try the 7v out... if it is still silent you may be happy with that. On my DDC-1 pumps 5v was not enough to do much with.

I have no motivation to do this right now, as I will not further oc mu cpu for a couple of months, long enough time to buy a controller wink.gif Until then 5V will be enough. Thanks for advice, though thumb.gif
