I have to pay over $100 a month, download speeds peak at about 1.2mb/s and the best you can possibly get in Australia for under several hundred a month is probably a 20/1 ADSL2+ connection.
Not true at all, i'm on basic cable with Telstra, 30/1, for 69 a month, could get 100/1 for just $10 more a month, however only 200gb of quota, its $10 more for the next tier up, 500gb. Coaxial cable line, and most adsl2+ is up to 20 mbps, however that is dependent on distance to exchange etc. i had a friend who lived about 200m from an exchange the once at a rental property and he got a solid 3 MB/s+. This is my results with someone streaming a youtube video at the same time, usually i get pretty close to the 30mb/s cap, if not above (32-34 on occasion) i typically get about 2.5 to 3 MB/s over steam downloads. I also have a friend on the 100mbps as well and he gets as high as 100-110 mb/s, downloaded an entire 8gb steam game in like 10-15 minutes.
