EK HF Supreme - Supporting Delidding?

I currently have a 2700k that obviously doesn't benefit from delidding.. However the Ivy Bridge and Haswel do.. If I were to move to one of those chips and I were to delid for extra preformance how would I go about hooking it up to the EK HF Supreme?

Can it be mounted on a delidded chip or do I need a whole new waterblock? I modified the mounting system and use a high pressure mounting as it is and not the original fix location.. I can move it closer to the board if needed so is it just a matter of making contact with the delidded chip?

From what I read the 1150 socket has the same dimensions as the 1155 so it will fit if I dont delid it..

What do you guys think? As I dont know.

Mount it as usual but pay extra care during the clamp down, you need even loading or you can break the die.
Find the jet plate that gives the least bow in the heatplate,EK could help with this, try PMing EK tiborr or Derick WM

JMattes, are you going to run naked or just apply CLU or some other TIM and put back the IHS? When we used to run bare die CPUs, the pressure had to be very little since the dies are completely flat and you can damage the die.

I also advise you to get in touch with EK support or tiborr.

I don't think it's worth a 2-3C drop by going with direct die contact..That's just me biggrin.gif I'll stick with CLP between die and IHS.
