Enterprise Data Destruction Help

Thread Starter
Hello OCN,

I work for a bankruptcy software company and I'm assigned with configuring and managing all computer related equipment that we send to our partnered lawyers.

I receive dozens of old HDD's a month from these lawyers as they exchange their equipment for my updated configurations. I am required to destroy said DATA. My question is what is the most economic way to destroy HDD's? I need an options that meets all the government's criteria of DATA destruction and another option that could be used as an expedited measure (perhaps drill press) that could quickly destroy the HDD's beyond normal user ability of pulling data until a 3rd party could come, collect and shred the HDD's.

Please as many options as possible you would help me look good if i came back with many different solutions. I work for a mid level company so they may spring for the more expensive options (deguassers) if i had a compelling argument.

Thanks OCN,

Scrotes

Sledge hammer. Seriously though a stationary drill press might not be a bad idea...

BBQ pit toss them all in, a lil lighter fluid and burn for hours.

I used DBAN when i had to wipe tough books that came back from IRAQ after the government contract was finished. Then we just recycled the drives.

drill press to drill them like a brake rotor or a ton press to crush them sounds good. Otherwise multiple passes with Darik's Boot & Nuke would work, but takes a long time.
