WordPress - How do you take off the WordPress logo/branding?

I am considering using WordPress for a site, but I will be wanting to remove the logo and branding so the site isn't emblazoned with WordPress logos, and so on. What is your recommendation in how to treat such an issue?

That depends which branding you're referring to. If it's the public facing part of the site then it's just a matter of using a different theme and/or editing the footer. If it's the login page or the dashboard you'll need to get your hands a bit dirtier with some of the WordPress core files, although I don't know which ones off the top of my head.

Basically the obvious ones the public will see.

Depending on the theme most of the branding can be controlled using either the template manager, or the themes CSS manager - all of which is done within the admin panel.

Look for this in the admin panel

Thanks!

I have yet to settle on anything, but wanted to make sure before pushing ahead that this was indeed possible.

I've had wordpress for one of my websites for a long time. In the CSS files you can either remove the code responsible for the Wordpress logo, or quite simply replace the Wordpress logo to one of your own preferably the same dimensions. All up to you.

I use one of the standard FTP clients so once you locate the image file, you know where to replace it. smile.gif
