CPU or GPU

Thread Starter
So I'm not sure whether to get a new GPU, or a a new CPU for my Birthday

My rig now:
-Intel i3 3220 3.3GHz - Stock cooler

-GTX 550Ti - Stock speeds

-6GB of RAM @ 1600MHz

-Corsair CX430 430w PSU

-Fractul Core Design 1000

I know pretty old...

This rig runs two monitors one at 1600x900 (20" Monitor) and a second at 1920x1080 (23" Monitor) I play games like Minecraft, Cod, Battlefield. I run a channel with this rig. So I do a lot of rendering and editing. My channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/ImFreiza

If I'm going to get a new CPU, I've decided to go with a i5 3570k with a Noctua L9i Low profile heatsink.

If I'm going to get a GPU it would probably be a 7870 or a 7850.

Help would be appreciated

how about a blend of both? you can get a 7950 for under $200 after rebate these days.
Grab one of those and a decent power supply that are frequently $50 after rebate.... so you're future proofed a bit. Sell off the 550ti and PSU to re-coop some funds.

I cant do both, I have one choice you see, the GPU or CPU... It would take to long to sell... I'm just wondering what would give me the overall best performance? A Graphics boost or CPU boost
