If anything, the iPhone5 should be cut to $100, and the iPhone 5C should be even cheaper! It's last years technology in a cheaper case..

The 5C is priced at exactly what the market demands it to be. Apple is a business. It is their goal to make money. The reason the 5C is expensive is because people will buy it at that price. They wouldn't buy a GS3 at that price so that's why Samsung don't charge as much as Apple. If Samsung managed to convince a large amount of customers that their last generation device is worth the same as the 5C currently is, then they'd charge a higher price.

A product is worth exactly what the market is willing to pay for it. Apple seems to think the market is willing to pay a lot for their product.

why wouldn't it? Same CPU, same Ram, same Camera, just a different forward facing camera and a slightly bigger battery.

It performs quite well, is the point.

how big are your pockets? I am not sure if being tall means i have bigger picks, but I can fit my S3 with extended battery, 3ds xl, and my wifes Note2 all in my front pockets with my wallet included. They are big, but the phones are not bulky. They slide into my pockets no problem biggrin.gif

Yup, just as (not) expected, the move to 64 bit has performance increases over the previous 32 bit architecture. Considering the number of armchair CPU experts who kept regurgitating the same "LOL ITS ONLY GOOD FOR >4GB MEMORY", I'm glad Anandtech laid it out straight. I hope its understood now that that the increase in number and size of GP/FP registers DIRECTLY translates to compiler optimization, which then translates to (generally) faster applications.

Otherwise, outside of the finger scanner (which is awesome btw), another solid iteration to the iPhone lineup.

Save for 3DMark, these are browser benchmarks also across different platforms. If you look at the strictly CPU-based test, the quad-cores are twice as fast as the A7.

Didn't think i was going to want to shell out the extra $ for the 5S, looks like i will be. Though seems like the 5S is what the 5 should've been no? Coming from a Galaxy S on it's last limb this should be quite an upgrade. Dual-core or not the browser based benchmarks are really all i give two cents about. I do three things on my phone: make phone calls, text, and browse when i don't have a laptop available. So it seems like applicable performance for me.

All you people wanting 5-6" phones go Samsung or get a tablet tongue.gif I applaud them for keeping this phone reasonably sized at 4" all this 4.5-6" nonsense just isn't for me and my small hands. Honestly my Galaxy can get annoying carrying around and it's 4".

So it would seem that iOS is pretty efficient when it comes to browser applications. Strange how Android and Windows don't have the same efficiency
